A poem for the people I love most:
Comedians have the darkest shades
Pains and aches that know no name
They point and laugh and disintegrate
On a stage with a mic for ears to salivate
The joy of their Them and the belly of our laugh
Is known from the source of the second half
The other side, the upside down
Flip it over and turn it around
Comedians share their biggest fears
And hide behind a love of mirrors
To know the one, they must know the other
Face it and name it and brave the water
Isn’t life perfect in its entirety
We can live with both and do it
